Regional demographics and labor market information based primarily on newly
released
2006 industry and labor force data. Is a thumbnail overview of the
region.
Data on the region's labor force, employed,
unemployed, and unemployment rates by
month and year. The data are estimates of workers residing in the
region no matter
whether they work within or outside the region (residential data).
Data on the region's employment by major industry sector. This data
differs from the
employment data above in that it is of people who work at industries in
the region no
matter where they reside (establishment data).
Employment data of specific industry clusters selected for use by Community
Compact members. The data is the same type (establishment data) as
that just above.
Data on the region's earnings by major industry sector. This data
is based on the reports
of the region's employers of their employment and payrolls for unemployment
insurance
purposes.
Regional commuting patterns data listing the originating areas and totals
that commute
into Region 1 and the totals of commuters and work destinations of Region
1 residents.
Regional occupational projections to 2014 based on 2004 industry employment
levels.
As with all projections they are inexact and may not reflect actual occupational
patterns
by the final year. They should be used in combination with other
occupational indicators.
